Following the Von Trapp story, visit several movie locations of the "Sound of Music" including a short city tour, the pond the children fell into, the "16 Going On 17" gazebo and of course the wedding church. You will recieve lots of information about the filming of the Sound of Music, the real von Trapp family and Austrian culture and lifestyle in general. You will also take a detour through the Austrian lake district to visit the UNESCO world cultural heritage site, Hallstatt. You will learn about the fascinating story of this salt-mining town and get two hours to explore this picturesque village on your own. Traveling from Salzburg, pass picturesque countryside on your way to the mountain retreat of Obersalzberg. Then transfer to a special coach to navigate the steep grades up to the Eagle's Nest. Discover the breathtaking views from the Eagle's Nest (Kehlsteinhaus) high up in the Bavarian Alps.
